Burton College – Workshop

The Burton College Workshop is designed to help people get back into work regardless of how long they have been unemployed or even if they are facing redundancy. The Workshop exists to offer encouragement, advice and support that is individually tailored to suit a person's needs, from assisting with the preparation of CVs and job searching to interview and skills training.

Disability Solutions

Disability Solutions is a voluntary organisation based in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. They are a registered charity controlled and run by local disabled people with services available across the whole of North Staffordshire. Nearly all our volunteers and paid staff are disabled people, committed to empowering disabled people to make the choices that will enable them to maintain and improve their quality of life.

E.L.I.T.E.

E.L.I.T.E. is a 'User Led' Peer Support Group which provides support and advice, for people of all ages and disabilities, who already receive, or are thinking about receiving a Direct Payment from Staffordshire County Council, Social Services Department to manage their own care and support.

The Healthcare Careers and Skills Academy is based on the University of North Staffordshire NHS Trust's City General site.

The academy offers access to training, access to employment and careers advice to support new, existing and future employees.

Jobcentre Plus is a part of the Department for Work and Pensions.

They aim to help more people into paid work, help employers fill their vacancies, and give people of working age the help and support they are entitled to if they cannot work.

The National Apprenticeship Service has been designed to increase the number of Apprenticeship opportunities and provide a dedicated, responsive service for both employers and learners. Newcastle-under-Lyme College

The College offers support for those who have been out of work for a while. This help and support includes access to careers advisors and subject tasters, assistance with CV writing and even finding work placements. They offer free on-the-job training, including work-based NVQ courses in child care and Health & Social Care.
